Animal Whisperer

While in Missouri, Mitchell became quite acquainted with the families' pets.  He loved Meemaw's cats, as you already saw from the video posted of him giggling at the cat under the table (As seen here: Hanging Out At Meemaw's).  And he loved chasing them around her house.  At Grandpa and Grandma's house, he loved playing with their new puppy, Patsy.  Patsy did tend to lick a lot and she did have sharp puppy claws, both of which Mitchell wasn't a fan of.  But, by the end of our visit he was really starting to hold his own with Patsy.  In fact, he would purposely shake toys or make them produce sounds (his favorite toy of choice was an empty water bottle) in order to get Patsy's attention, almost as if bragging to her, "Look what I got Patsy!"  Then, when she would come running he would think it was funny to play tug-of-war with her with the toy.  Haha, and often Patsy would start to win the tug-of-war, so as a last ditch effort, Mitchell would try intimidating her by yelling.  His love for these animals is great to see, especially since we may be getting a dog here very soon:)

"Back off puppy!!  This bottle is mine!"

But Patsy is not backing down without a fight.  She wants that bottle.

In the end, the two pals worked it out and decided to read the paper together.

Mitchell is not afraid of Patsy's bark.  In fact, he tries to crawl over to play with her.  Haha, and I love how she feels comfortable enough with him to try and hide behind him:)

This video gives you a cute view at Mitchell trying to intimidate Patsy by yelling at her, just as she successfully takes away the "toy" (bottle).  And as a bonus, you'll get to see Mitchell's new skill: waving Hi.
