It's Only Up From Here

Well, someone has learned to climb the stairs... Chris.  Haha, just kidding.  Obviously, it is Mr. Mitchell.  He started climbing last week and he hasn't stopped since.  We did put up a baby gate at the very top of our stairs to stop him from falling down them, but so far we have left the bottom of the stairs open.  We figure the bottom of the stairs is in our family room, where we can keep a good eye on him, and we do want him to be able to SAFELY experience the stairs and get practice going up and down them (while supervised of course).  The only problem is now going up the stairs is one of his favorite activities and he doesn't like it too much when you pull him off the stairs, or block them for any reason (i.e. Cue the tantrums).  Though, it is really fun to see him developing and discovering new things, we love it!!

And so it begins.

Since this video was taken, Mitchell has climbed all the way up to the top, multiple times.  He loves it!!

And for those of you doubting that our sweet Mitchell is capable of throwing tantrums, here is proof.  He was mad because Chris walked up the stairs and he wanted to follow, but we had blocked his way.  Haha, and do you love our makeshift "baby gate?"  We temporarily put up his playpen and a box to block the stairs.  He did not like that:)
