Visit to Seattle

While Meemaw was here we also took a day trip to Seattle.  We took her to see the famous Pike Place Market.  There were so many artisans, souvenir shops, fresh seafood, locally grown fruit and vegetables, gorgeous flowers, bakeries, and restaurants.  Of course, we had to try it all!  We stuffed ourselves with biscuits and gravy from Biscuit Bitch (Yes, that is the actual name of the place... very good biscuits and gravy), Piroshkies (Russian baked goods), grapes, apples, and plums (Yes, we actually stuffed ourselves with fresh fruit... and it was Delicious!), fresh roasted cashews, hot dogs from the famous Taxi Dog (Save your lectures on how hot dogs are gross or bad for you... we love them and this place had some of the best hot dogs we have ever eaten! Lol!), cookies and donuts, super fresh squeezed apple cider, and so much more that I can't remember it all.  Haha, needless to say, we left in food comas.  And on our way home we decided to take the ferry across Puget Sound.  It was such a beautiful and fun ride!

My best friend, Becky, who lives in Oregon also came up to visit with us for the weekend.  We were so glad to see her, and we are really glad to be living so close to each other now to enjoy many more visits in the future.  Have I mentioned how excited we are to be living here?!?!!  (Haha, I know I've said that in almost every post about WA, but it's so true!!).

Our view of Seattle as we drove in.

Welcome to Seattle!

Pike Place Market is a must when visiting Seattle!

Eyeing the baked goods.

Chris waiting in line to get some fruit.  Yes, that's right!  You read that correctly... Chris actually waited to get some grapes.  They were some pretty tasty grapes.  And just look at all that bright, sweet, amazing fruit!

Piroshky, Piroshky!!!  Yum-Oh!!  Check out how long the line was to taste these amazing treats.  It went out their door and wrapped around the corner to where we were; and there were also plenty of people in line behind us.  Worth it!!

Chris finally found a doughnut to fit him... it was a Swisher-sized doughnut.  And it was delicious!!

First ferry ride.  Bye-bye Seattle:)

Our view of Seattle as we left.  Can you spot the Space Needle?

Evening ride across the Puget Sound.  It was a nice way to end the day.
