Hi Meemaw!

One of the nice things about having a new baby (besides the baby himself... Lol!) is all the family visits we get.  Not that we aren't a good draw ourselves, but the baby doesn't hurt our chances for visits:)  Over Memorial weekend we were lucky enough to have Meemaw come see us!  We really didn't get to do too much during her visit, because... you know, I had just had a baby!  Lol!  Plus, I was just recovering from being really sick and we were all sleep deprived (still are).  But Meemaw was the sweetest and made it clear she was just here to help, meet her newest little grandbaby, and visit her grandkids and family:)  Mitchell and Duncan were both in Meemaw-spoiling heaven... Well, let's face it, we all were in Meemaw-spoiling heaven!  Thank you for a great visit and for taking such good care of us!

Game night was a hit with Mitchell.  Meemaw and him played this matching game (which Mitchell got for Christmas) for quite a while.  Meemaw won a couple of rounds but ultimately I think Mitchell came out on top:)

Mitchell in the middle of saying, "Cheeeeeese!"

Captain Mitchell!  We did manage to get the whole family out to the park for a fun afternoon.

We don't have a lot of sunny days here in Washington, so it was nice to get out and enjoy this one.  This picture doesn't show it very well, but you could actually see Mt. Rainier very clearly on this day.  Can you spot it?

He had to be the first to walk on the "bridge."  We had gone down to the water a little earlier to look for crabs.  We saw a few crabs but found even more Sand-dollars.  There were tons of them everywhere!  I had never seen that many before, and they were alive! (Sorry I didn't get a picture).

Of course, Meemaw squeezed in plenty of snuggle time with baby Colin:)

Pool time!  In celebration of summer, Meemaw's visit, and a late Mother's Day celebration, we decided to enjoy a day of grilling and swimming.

Our feast!  Happy late Mother's Day Meemaw!  Chris grilled us some steaks, corn, and shrimp.  And mashed potatoes and Caesar salad rounded out the meal.  Chris did an excellent job!  Everything was grilled to perfection.

This was a typical evening for Meemaw... anywhere she sat down, the boys would surround her and fight for her attention.  "Play cars with me Meemaw!"  "No, play with me Meemaw!"  Lol!  Don't worry, she made sure they knew that there was plenty of her love and attention to go around:)

A meemaw x3.  (Haha, and Mitchell was over the picture taking by this time).

Meemaw got Mitchell this easel for his birthday.  He loves it!

He didn't hesitate to jump right in and start making his masterpieces!  Thank you Meemaw for the birthday gift, for all of your help (especially in letting me sleep in, heehee!), and for the fantastic visit!

So, even though it was a warm, sunny day... the water came out freezing from the hose!  Had we thought ahead, we would have filled the pool earlier and let the sun warm up the water a bit, but we didn't.  Mitchell didn't seem to mind too much though.  He circled the pool a little bit, but eventually decided to sit down:)  Cold water can't stop this kid from having fun!
