One of the ways he does this is make his "sound" toys play music. Mitchell has an activity chair he sits in which has a toy on it that plays music when he pulls down on the handle. A few months ago when Mitchell would pull down on this handle, Chris and I would praise him and clap... Now, when Mitchell wants your attention, he will pull down on the handle and then immediately look up at you and smile, and see if you noticed and are looking at him (so cute!). Haha, and it is extra funny when he gets ahead of himself... Sometimes he is getting ready to pull down on the toy, and he'll quickly turn his head and look at you (to see if you are looking), but then he realizes he hasn't actually pulled the handle yet; so he'll quickly turn back, pull the toy, and then quickly look back at you again. So funny.
Another way Mitchell gets your attention is with a squeaker. Mitchell got a teething blanket for Christmas which has a bunch of different textures and surfaces on it for a baby to explore. Well, until a few weeks ago, all Mitchell cared about was a few of those surfaces. Now, he has discovered the side with a squeaker in it... err, correction... he always knew it was there, but he has now learned how to squeak it himself (before Chris and I would have to squeeze it for him). And when he is squeaking his toy, he will look around to make sure you are watching him:) He won't stare at you the whole time, but he will occasionally look at you to make sure you are still watching.
One of Mitchell's favorite ways to have our attention is to play peek-a-boo. He just smiles so big at you when you say peek-a-boo and he sees you again. And it is my favorite when he gets this "proud" look, like he is so proud of himself for rediscovering us. We love this little guy!!!
OMG that just made me cry SUPER CUTE!!! all the way around. PERFECT
