After we got back from San Diego, Chris and I had only about four days before we had to turn around and get on a plane to Las Vegas... for my sister's wedding!! Wahoo! My sister, Christine, and her first love, Brian, FINALLY decided to get hitched. So, all my family made the trip down to Las Vegas to witness their nuptials. For many of us, Chris and me included, it was our first trip to Vegas. And let me tell ya, wow, they aren't kidding when they say Las Vegas is a crazy town. We definitely saw some crazy, but we also had an amazing time. And extra cheers to Meemaw, who flew out to watch our boys while we were living it up 😉 (More about her visit in another post).
Here's a picture of Mount Rainier as we flew by it on our way to Vegas.
Vegas Baby!
Our first night there we met up with some family for dinner and then decided to stroll along Fremont Street. Oh boy, was it an "interesting" place. Like this guy who you could pay to move him in any position you wanted, and then he would stay that way until he was moved again. I mean, who thinks up this stuff?!! At least he kept it PG... there were many other "performers" who did not. Lol.
Fremont Street! My brother, Richard, niece, Kathryn, and the groom and bride to be, Brian and Christine.
Brian taught me how to play roulette. And check out all my winnings!! I doubled my money that night!! (From $20 to $40, Ha! We're not big gamblers). But we were mostly there for the experience and thrills, and it really was exciting and a lot of fun.
We stayed at Circus Circus, as did my parents. And apparently, my dad thinks Vegas is a cowboy town. 🤣
The next morning was a trip to the Hoover Dam with my parents, my sister, Nicole, and her hubby, Nate.
Here's your Dam picture. 🙂
Chris and Nate looking over the Dam railing. (Yes, I'm going to completely overplay this joke during this post. Lol!)
Nicole and Nate walking in the Dam caves (that's what I call them) to the Dam power plant. You know they don't allow you to chew any gum on the Dam tour... too many people trying to copy Chevy Chase from his National Lampoon's Vacation movie, where he sticks the gum on the wall to stop a leak. Haha, seriously people? But, there really were Dam leaks everywhere, which was a bit unnerving to think about sometimes.
The Dam power plant.
The boys ghosting along the Dam tunnel.
My sister and I checking out the gorgeous Dam views. (Ok, I'm done now with the Dam jokes 😜)
And for fun, check out this flashback photo of Chris's dad at the Hoover Dam!! What a stud!! :)
Later on that night it was time for a classic Vegas show... Elvis style. He was really good!
The next day was all about Christine and Brian's wedding... again, it was Elvis style! Complete with Hula girls and all (Which is a fun detail, because Christine and Brian met when they were both living in Hawaii in their early 20's).
This wedding had pizazz, music, fun, and dancing!! It really was such a great event!!
Wahoo!! Just married!!
And here's the happy couple! It was such a fun wedding!! They actually rode into the chapel in that pink Cadillac.
Enjoying some food after the wedding with friends and family!
The next couple of days were packed full of family, fun, and food! Look... Chris found a claw machine made for someone his size. Lol!
Our kids are obsessed with Ghostbusters, so we wanted to show them this Slimer Slot Machine. Although it wasn't very lucky for us. 😢
We had a really good time hanging out at the Golden Nugget with my family (my sister and her new hubby were staying there). Fremont Street was our jam.
Hahaha!! Somehow I convinced my dad it would be fun for him to ride this thing. It was so freaking funny!! I guess he truly is young at heart. 💗
Just Married!!!
While in Vegas, Chris and I decided to treat ourselves to the number one ranked steak house in ALL of Las Vegas... It did not disappoint!! It was our first time trying dry aged steak, and oh boy, it is a game changer! Yummo!!
What happens in Vegas stays??
