We have another two year old in our house... let the mayhem begin! Right before Christmas, Mr. Duncan turned two years old. And he didn't waste time in letting us know he was the new sheriff in town; he seriously threw a tantrum on his very first day of being two. He has always been such a happy, smiley, sweet baby, so we couldn't imagine him ever hitting the "Terrible Twos." In fact, we naively thought he might skip that part. He was just so happy and agreeable all the time. Well, while he is still our happy and sweet child, he has also very much started his "Terrible Two" stage. Well, I guess we still have Colin left to hope and dream that a child of ours might skip this stage in life. (Haha, this is where you roll your eyes at us).
For Duncan's actual birthday, we just had a low-key party at home with cupcakes. We did get him his first, very own Happy Meal from McDonald's for a treat, and he loved it. We waited to have his party until Meemaw arrived for the Christmas holiday. But... he was sick the first half of her visit, so we postponed that celebration even longer. Eventually, everyone was well and accounted for, so we headed off to Chuck-e-Cheese to let the kids wear themselves out (and us adults), and then headed home for some cake. Happy birthday Duncan!
This spunky kid is two! He weighs in at 29 pounds (63 percentile) and he is 36.75 inches tall (99 percentile). His favorite words are "Thank you," "No," and "Please." He is a very picky eater, but loves bananas, yogurt, french fries, and mac-n-cheese (in fact, he pretty much only wants those things). He enjoys watching SpongeBob and Sesame Street. His favorite toys are Elmo and Legos. He likes reading books, playing outside (but he is a runner and will take off if he isn't closely watched), and laughing with his brothers. He is such a ray of sunshine in our lives!
Exploring his first Happy Meal.
Jackpot!
A visit from big brother didn't derail him. He didn't even skip a beat and just kept on eating. Lol!
Aaanndd... cue the Terrible Two transformation. Well, either that or he was scared of his candles. Haha!
Bring on the Chuck-e-Cheese fun!!
(Also known as the "Chase Duncan Around Everywhere" place)

Here is Duncan's "Elmo" birthday cake!! Hahahaha! Ok, ok... no judging now. So, we got Duncan a red monster cake, that we figured looked close enough to Elmo to convince a two year old; but since it was just a generic red monster, we didn't have to pay a bunch of extra money for the Sesame Street licensing/copyright stuff. And it was a pretty cute monster cake, until... we got it home and the box had smushed the icing on "Elmo's" face. We tired fixing it by scraping icing away with a knife and adding our own icing, but after most of that failed will just added inedible eyes on the poor thing and called it good. Haha, lucky for us, Duncan is only two and didn't seem to notice in the slightest. Lol! Happy birthday Duncan!
I love Mitchell's expression here. We're just enjoying Duncan's second birthday party. He was a bit happier at this one. Lol! And if I remember correctly, I believe Mitchell also had an Elmo party for his 2nd birthday. It must be a right of passage for these Swisher kids.
This was Duncan's birthday party, but he was too busy constantly running around everywhere that I was only able to film Mitchell. I love how Chris obviously beats Mitchell, but let's Mitchell take the glory... that's what sweet dads do:)
His Terrible Two transformation is complete. Lol! "No" has become one of his most favorite words.
Good thing big brother is always there to lead a hand in blowing out some birthday candles. Lol! Happiest of happy birthdays Duncan boy! We love you so much!
