Our Missouri Visit!!

Wow... what a fun couple of weeks Mitchell and I just had!!  We had the great pleasure of flying to Missouri the last two weeks of April to spend time with family (unfortunately, Chris had to work and was unable to make the trip, which was a bummer but understandable).  It was such a great trip!!  We had great family visits, Mitchell had two birthday parties (more on those in another post), we indulged in our favorite Missouri foods, loved seeing green grass and green trees everywhere (Idaho is pretty dry and greenless), enjoyed our cousin's beautiful wedding (congratulations Adam and Ashley!!), took a relaxing trip to the lake, and experienced some fantastic thunderstorms!!!  All the comforts of our Missouri home were there.  Haha, there was also some not so fun stuff:  humidity, allergies, bugs, and more humidity.  But, those things were a small price to pay to see our family.  Thank you to everyone who pampered us, spoiled us, took time to come see us, chauffeured us around, celebrated Mitchell's birthday with us, and made us feel right at home.  We can't wait to see you all again!!

We started our visit off at Meemaw's house.  This was one of Mitchell's favorite spots.  Open, close, open, close... he loved her shudders:)

Mitchell loved Meemaw's kitties.  Haha, correction... He loved CHASING them (poor kitties).  Unfortunately, we think he is allergic to cats, but that didn't stop him from wanting to show them some love:)

We also enjoyed a great visit with Papaw and Great-grandpa and grandma Swisher.  Haha, and once again, Mitchell loved opening and closing all of their doors.

Meemaw had the honor of helping Mitchell reach a great milestone in his life: eating his first Cheddar's chicken tender.  Of course, he loved it!!  Was there any doubt?! :)

Oh, and the food!!!  From left to right: Mitchell eating fried okra at Lamberts (can you believe our super picky eater liked fried okra?!!  He couldn't get enough of the stuff), White Castle (Again, Mitchell loved it!  He ate 3 White Castle burgers!!  They're not huge burgers, but that's a lot for a two year old), Fazoli's (another milestone Mitchell reached: his first Fazoli's breadstick.  Again, of course he loved it.), Springfield Chinese food (yum, yum, yummy!!), Cheddar's!!, and of course Braum's.  Haha, I promise family, we did like seeing you guys as well.

Mitchell adored cousin Kathryn.  Whenever she was in the room, he was right by her side.

Kathryn, Christine, and me enjoying some Lamberts.  Kathryn did an excellent job catching all of our rolls.

Mitchell is licking his chops, waiting for another roll.

Oh Missouri, we love your spring green!!  From left to right: Grandpa waving to Mitchell on the porch (Mitchell loved Grandpa and Grandma's porch), the front of Gpa and Gma's house (We love all the green around it!!), Aunt Winnie and Uncle Dale's house (we love how their white picket fence stands out against all the green), watching Gma on the tractor, Mitchell enjoying the fresh air, and all the kiddos playing volleyball at Mitchell's birthday party (Kathryn, David, and Mason).

Mitchell loved the new deck at Grandpa and Grandma's cabin.  Ah, we could get used to the lake life:)

Poor Mitchell fell down and got his first knee scrape.  Haha, just check out that scowl.  Don't worry, he quickly got over it once we handed him the balloon.

Speaking of balloons... since Mitchell had two birthday parties while in MO, there were balloons galore; and he couldn't have been happier about it.  Wherever he was, a balloon was also.  He was constantly holding one.  I guess it's the little things in life:)

This kid couldn't have had more fun with his family.  He loves being chased, being surprised, given rides, and just played with in any fashion.  Thank you family for entertaining him in every way possible:)
