New Car

Well, we did it.  We bought a new car!!  This was both an exciting and nerve-racking experience for us.  Exciting because duh... it's a new car.  And we were more than ready to get rid of our 2004 Ford Taurus.  Nerve-racking because this is the first big purchase for us together in our marriage, and now we have our first real debt together.  This may seem sudden, and it kind of was, but we have been talking seriously about getting a new car for the last 6 months.  We knew we would need a new car once we had the baby, for more room and more reliabililty.  But, we were thinking we would wait until this summer, right after the baby arrived.  Well, our Taurus was quickly becoming a money pit.  There was always a new problem with it that was costing $200 here or $300 there; and we were worried if we waited much longer that we would either have to put even more money into it soon, or it would die on us and then we would have no trade-in for a new car.  Well, the Taurus starting acting up, again, and as we were expressing our frustrations over it, my work was offering a great, last-minute sale on vehicles in January.  So, we bit the bullet.  I do have to say, that while we are not enjoying a car payment (but, who does?), we are LOVING the new ride.  Oh, and I guess I have officially decided to be a SUV mom:)
