The Easter Bunny brought us an extra great gift this year... a visit from Grandpa and Grandma! My parents arrived Saturday night, just in time to celebrate Easter morning with us the next day. They made the long drive from Missouri in their new RV (Well, it is an used RV, but new to them:) We are so thankful they are here to visit and to help out for the next few weeks with our "impending arrival." Lol! But more on all that later.
Saturday morning our church hosted an Easter breakfast and Easter egg hunt. Mitchell rocked the hunt! If there was an egg around, he found it:) The next morning, I'm pretty sure Mitchell snuck a peak at his basket... When I heard him wake up and come out of his room, I yelled at him to come into our room and get in bed with us. He normally would love that, but he seemed pretty resistant on hopping into our bed. Lol! Then he said he wanted to go get his "red car." He has all kind of cars, so I didn't know what he was talking about; but then it hit me that the Easter Bunny left a red car in Duncan's basket, so that is what Mitchell must have seen. Sneaky kiddo:) Oh well, I'm sure we will have plenty of moments in our future of him taking a peak at Easter baskets, Christmas presents, etc. At least he only got a quick peak. He was still very happy and surprised once we all got up to check out his Easter treats. Happy Easter everyone!
He wasn't intimidated of the other kids at all... he only had eggs on his mind!
Good thing he is a tall boy and could reach those eggs a little higher up:)
Yes, I am that mom who takes her kid to an Easter egg hunt and forgets to bring a basket for him to use. (He didn't seem to notice). Thank goodness for plastic bags, right? Lol!
He's not afraid to brave the "jungle" to try and find eggs. Haha!
"Look mom! I... can... almost... reach... it!"
Enjoying his spoils!
The Easter bunny came! Hmm... Mitchell really seemed to recognize that red car in Duncan's basket. Lol! And Mitchell loves the Earth and maps... so he was really excited to find a globe in his basket. You can even hear him point at Antarctica and say "Brrr" because it's cold and then tell us that's where penguins live. Such a smart boy:) Thanks Easter Bunny!
This was Duncan's basket... or as Mitchell likes to think of it: Mitchell's second basket. Lol! At least he waited for Duncan to hand him the goodies from his basket. That is a step up from Mitchell usually just grabbing stuff from Duncan (yay, parenting win!). At the very end of the video, if you listen closely, you can hear Duncan say "up" for Chris to pick him up. It is one of the six words he says pretty good:)
