Mitchell's Blessing

Sweet baby boy on his blessing day:)
On June 2nd, Mitchell received his baby blessing at our church in Rolla, MO.  The religious blessing was given by Chris; included in the circle were my dad, Richard Owens, and the first and second counselors in our bishopric, Brother Russell and Brother Wilson.  Chris's mom, Nina, and my parents came to help share in the special moment.  It was a very sweet blessing where Mitchell was blessed with many things, including: courage to follow the Lord, great health, strength to go on a mission and be married in the temple.  He is so precious to us and we are happy he was able to get this blessing to start out his sweet life dedicated to the Lord.

Another special connection to this day was the outfit Mitchell wore.  It was made by Chris's grandma Swisher (Mitchell's great grandmother) and it is the same dress Chris wore when he was baptized as a baby.  That's right, it's a dress:)  Well, it's more like a gown which is gender neutral, but Chris just couldn't stop apologizing to Mitchell for putting him in a "dress."  He swears Mitchell didn't like it either.  But, the truth is Mitchell looked so adorable in his blessing gown.  And again, it means even so much more because it was made by family and passed down a generation.

Mitchell with Meemaw.  Chris liked this picture because he
said Mitchell was giving Meemaw a scrowl because
he didn't like being in that "dress."  LOL.

Poor guy was tuckered out after being shown off all day.
